Raymond Storms, Countertenor
Raymond Storms, 2001 Young Floridian Recipient for Music, is a 25 year
old countertenor. Mr. Storms received his Bachelor's Degree in Vocal
Performance in May 2007 at New England Conservatory of Music in
Boston, MA. He was the only student selected from the Conservatory to
attend the Royal College of Music in London in 2004 as an exchange
student. During his studies abroad, Storms sang for James Bowman,
Michael Chance and gave solo recitals at various venues including
Waltham Abbey. While there, he then teamed up with the Royal College
of Music's Outreach program where he composed and performed music with
cancer survivors at the Royal Albert Hall. This event was sponsored
by Sony. In 2005 Mr. Storms was a finalist in the Belle Voci National
Competition and Concert in Eugene, Oregon

Raymond Storms began studying opera in 2001 at New World School of the
Arts in Miami, Florida under Joy Davidson. In 2002 Mr. Storms was the
first place winner for the First Year College Men's Division of the
National Association of Teachers of Singing. In March 2003 he sang
Dr. Dulcamara in the opera "The Elixir of Love."

Mr. Storms transferred to the New England conservatory of Music in
Boston in 2003 where he understudied the role of Endimione in "La
Calisto." In 2006 "The Storms Trio" was chosen by Tanya Maggi, head
of the Outreach program at N.E.C., to bring classical music to the
Boston community. Raymond has performed in opera scenes from A
Midsummer Night's Dream, Rinaldo, L'incoronazione Di Poppea, Die
Fledermaus, Orfeo E Euridice and The Magic Flute.

Since September 2007, Mr. Storms has been coaching with Dr. Julian
Kwok in New York City, where he now resides.
