Jon Hurrell, horn Jonathan's musical career includes composing, teaching, performing and recording. His score for the film, "By Words" has been procalimed "genius" by Gizem Yarbil, New York Turkish Film Festival. His "Brass Quintet" won the first annual Alpha Sinfonia Orpheus Competition in 2003. On the horn, he "displays amazing technique" and "rich sonorities," Watertown Daily Times. He has premiered and recorded works by Lukas Foss and Samuel Adler, and performed in Ozawa Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, Lincoln Theater, Sanders Theater, West Street Theater and Bennett-Gordon Hall. He has presented master classes at Boston Conservatory, University of Illinois-Urbana, Oklahoma University, Manhattan School of Music, Mannes School and was on faculty at Boston University.
